Sidharth Malhotra “Stole” Hit Song Danger from Thama for Param Sundari, Reveals Producer Dinesh Vijan

In what might be the most entertaining crossover in Bollywood music gossip this year, producer Dinesh Vijan has revealed that the chartbuster Danger from the upcoming film Param Sundari was originally created for another film — Thama. And the plot twist? It was Sidharth Malhotra who “stole” it.

 

The revelation came during the glitzy music launch event of Param Sundari held in Mumbai, where the cast and crew including Sidharth Malhotra, Janhvi Kapoor, and music legend Sonu Nigam were in attendance. Speaking candidly to the press, Vijan said, “To be honest, this song Sidharth Malhotra stole. This is the honest truth. It was made for Thama, and then he called Amar Kaushik and urged him that he needed a song for Param Sundari. And if you think about it — a song titled Danger really doesn’t fit a film titled Param Sundari!”

 

Param Sundari, directed by Tushar Jalota, is a cross-cultural romantic drama that pairs Malhotra and Kapoor for the first time. The film is set to release on August 29, 2025, and with this cheeky backstory behind its breakout track, anticipation has only doubled.

 

Meanwhile, Thama — the intended home of Danger — is a much-awaited horror-comedy starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, and written by Niren Bhatt, the film continues Maddock Films’ expanding Horror-Comedy Universe and is slated for a Diwali release.

 

While the “song theft” was said in good humor, the reveal has sparked a hilarious wave of reactions online, with fans already imagining crossover moments and meme wars between the two casts. Bollywood may be built on drama, but in this case — it’s a drama set to a dangerously catchy beat.
