Kannada cinema’s “Challenging Star” Darshan Thoogudeepa is back in the headlines—this time for his upcoming action film The Devil, as the first single, “Idre Nemdiyaag Irbek,” is set to drop on August 24, 2025, at 10:05 AM IST. The announcement was made via Darshan’s official social media handle, now being managed by his wife, Vijayalakshmi Darshan, in light of his recent arrest in the high-profile Renukaswamy murder case. In her statement, Vijayalakshmi emphasized her commitment to updating fans and continuing the promotional journey for the film.

 

Despite the ongoing legal storm, the buzz surrounding The Devil remains strong. The song, composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath—celebrated for his 2015 Karnataka State Film Award-winning work in Ulidavaru Kandanthe—promises a pulsating start to the film's musical campaign. Loknath’s ability to blend regional texture with universal appeal is expected to elevate the soundtrack, giving the film a critical edge in music-driven promotions.

 

Directed by Prakash Veer, The Devil marks yet another collaboration between the filmmaker and Darshan, continuing a successful creative partnership.
