Set to open in theaters on September 12, 2025, Rabbit Trap follows married musicians Darcy (Patel) and Daphne (McEwen), who retreat to the remote Welsh countryside in search of peace and creative renewal. Their goal? To finish a new album using raw, natural soundscapes. But when Darcy captures an unidentifiable and unnatural field recording, the couple unwittingly awakens something ancient and restless.
What begins as artistic inspiration quickly spirals into a dark fairytale. As Daphne’s music starts to bleed into the forest around them, a strange child appears at their door — both comforting and deeply unsettling. Daphne sees him as a sign, a gift. But Darcy senses something sinister, especially as the boy becomes increasingly fixated on them… and on what lies hidden in the woods.
The trailer oozes atmosphere — shadowy trees, distorted audio, pagan symbols, and the uneasy quiet of rural isolation. Think The Witch meets Midsommar, with a psychedelic sonic twist. And with Dev Patel front and center in one of his most intense roles yet, Rabbit Trap looks poised to burrow into your psyche long after the credits roll.
Whether the threat is human, supernatural, or something in between, one thing’s clear: you don’t come out of this forest unchanged. In theaters September 12. Proceed with caution.
