Akshay Oberoi Calls Yash a “One-Man Industry” as They Gear Up for Toxic

Actor Akshay Oberoi, known for his intense roles in Fighter and Gurgaon, is all praise for Kannada superstar Yash, his co-star in the upcoming gangster epic Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. Speaking about their collaboration, Akshay didn’t hold back, calling Yash a “one-man industry” and a true leader in every sense of the word.

 

“He is a special person and a star,” Oberoi said, adding, “I’m not just saying it because the camera is on. I’m genuinely impressed and inspired by him. Sometimes I question my own thinking after meeting him—he just thinks so big, so vast.” He further emphasized how, unlike most actors who depend on producers and directors for opportunities, Yash carries an unshakable confidence and independence: “He doesn’t need anybody. He’s like, ‘Come with me or don’t—but I’m going forward.’ That’s powerful. You’re born with that kind of leadership.”

 

Toxic, written and directed by Geetu Mohandas, promises to be a dark, stylized gangster drama set in a surreal period backdrop. With a star-studded cast including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, and Oberoi himself, tahe film is being shot in both Kannada and English, and will be released in six languages—expanding Yash’s pan-India appeal even further.

 

The film is jointly produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under their banners KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. Acclaimed cinematographer Rajeev Ravi is behind the lens, while the atmospheric title announcement music was composed by Jeremy Stack—hinting at the international scale and ambition of the project.

 

Set to release on March 19, 2026, coinciding with Ugadi, Toxic is already being positioned as a game-changer in Indian cinema—and with Yash leading the charge, expectations couldn’t be higher.
