Sharing a set of pictures of the towering hoarding, Hrithik wrote: "Okay @tarak9999, now you've taken it too far by sending an actual BILLBOARD under my house! Alright, challenge accepted. Remember you brought this upon yourself. #9DaysToWar2"
The cheeky marketing stunt, featuring the War 2 song “Ghungroo” and a dramatic “NTR vs Hrithik” tagline, marks the latest move in an escalating promotional showdown between the two stars. It's also a clever nod to the fierce rivalry their characters share in the film, building buzz ahead of the August 14th release.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 is the sixth installment in YRF’s expanding Spy Universe and a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War. With a mammoth ₹400 crore budget (approx. $50M), it is among the most expensive Indian films ever made. It stars Hrithik Roshan reprising his role as the elite agent Kabir, while NTR Jr. makes his much-anticipated Bollywood debut in a pivotal role. Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Ashutosh Rana round out the stellar cast.
Shot across exotic locations like Italy and Spain, the film blends globe-trotting espionage, stylized action, and character-driven conflict, aiming to match the scale of global spy franchises. With music by Pritam, and background score by Sanchit and Ankit Balhara, the soundtrack is also expected to be a major highlight.
War 2 is set for a massive August 14, 2025 worldwide release, perfectly timed with Independence Day weekend, and will be available in IMAX, 4DX, Dolby Cinema, and other premium formats — bringing the war home in full cinematic fury.
