Unfazed by FIRs, Vivek Agnihotri Powers Ahead with US Tour for The Bengal Files

Legal trouble back home? Not enough to slow down Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri. Even as multiple FIRs have been filed in West Bengal against his upcoming film The Bengal Files, the filmmaker remains undeterred, continuing his "Never Again" U.S. tour with full force. While controversy swirls around the film’s dialogue — “If Kashmir hurt you, Bengal will haunt you” — Vivek is staying laser-focused on his mission: bringing untold historical truths to global audiences.

The filmmaker, joined by actor-producer Pallavi Joshi, has been receiving warm receptions at international screenings. From standing ovations to tearful reactions, the overseas audience has connected deeply with the film’s emotional portrayal of the 1946 Direct Action Day, Noakhali riots, and what Agnihotri terms the "Hindu genocide" — events that form the heart of this third installment in his “Files Trilogy.”

Taking to social media with a composed but clear message, Vivek posted, “I won’t stop until the world knows the truth of the Hindu genocide. Watch. Share. Speak up.” The video featured moments from the U.S. premiere — including testimonies from young Hindus and even a Jewish woman who drew chilling parallels between her own community’s trauma and what’s depicted in the film.

Despite the political friction — including TMC leaders filing objections and FIRs in Bengal — Vivek seems to be operating on a different frequency: one focused on international awareness and historical reckoning. And with The Bengal Files set to hit theaters on September 5, 2025, the noise doesn’t appear to be slowing the momentum.

As the controversy unfolds, one thing is clear: Vivek Agnihotri isn’t backing down — he’s doubling down.
