Allu Arjun Applauds Vikrant Massey, Rani Mukerji, and Indian Cinema’s Big Wins at 71st National Awards

Allu Arjun, one of India’s leading stars, took to social media to extend heartfelt congratulations following the announcement of the 71st National Film Awards. In a celebratory tweet, the Pushpa actor praised Vikrant Massey for his stellar performance in 12th Fail, calling it “one of my top favourite films,” and lauding Massey’s well-deserved win. The film, which quietly became a sleeper hit in 2023, grossed over ₹69 crore on a modest ₹20 crore budget—proof of its strong word-of-mouth and critical acclaim.

 

Massey's portrayal in 12th Fail earned him national recognition at the awards, where he was jointly honored with Shah Rukh Khan for Jawan, marking a significant moment that bridges mainstream appeal with intimate storytelling. Allu Arjun’s message, in particular, highlighted the impact of cinema beyond commercial numbers—applauding the film’s creative team, especially director Vidhu Vinod Chopra (“#Vinod garu”), for their contributions.

 

Allu Arjun also gave a special shoutout to Rani Mukerji, who took home the Best Actress award at the same ceremony. Recognized for her role in 2024, Mukerji’s win adds to her illustrious career, which spans decades and includes honors like the 2004 Rajiv Gandhi Award and a 2011 "Actor of the Decade" title.
