Sanjana Sanghi Pens Emotional Tribute as Dil Bechara Turns Five: “Always Was, Always Will Be, the Most Magical”

As Dil Bechara completes five years, actor Sanjana Sanghi took to social media to share an emotional tribute, thanking fans for the enduring love and support the film continues to receive. Released in 2020, the film marked Sanjana’s breakthrough as a lead actor and also stood as the final cinematic performance of the late Sushant Singh Rajput, making it an unforgettable experience for fans and the industry alike.

 

Sharing a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram, Sanjana reflected on the journey of the film and her beloved character, Kizie Basu. In her heartfelt caption, she wrote:

Directed by Mukesh Chhabra in his directorial debut, Dil Bechara is an adaptation of John Green’s novel The Fault in Our Stars. The film follows the poignant love story of Kizie, a young girl battling thyroid cancer, and Manny (played by Sushant Singh Rajput), a cancer survivor. The two meet at a support group and embark on an unforgettable journey of love, loss, and emotional resilience.

 

Originally slated for a theatrical release, Dil Bechara premiered digitally due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the challenges, the film broke records as one of the most-watched OTT releases of 2020 and struck a powerful emotional chord, especially as it was released shortly after Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic passing.
