Tanushree Dutta Breaks Down in Emotional Video, Alleges Harassment at Her Own Home

Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta left fans shocked and concerned after posting a tearful video on Instagram, in which she alleged ongoing harassment in her own home for the past 4-5 years. Crying inconsolably in the video, the actress claimed that the situation had reached a breaking point, prompting her to call the police on Tuesday. “Guys, I’m being harassed in my own home,” she said. “I just called the cops… The police came and asked me to visit the station to file a formal complaint.”

 

In the emotional appeal, Tanushree described her deteriorating health and inability to live a normal life due to the alleged harassment. She accused unknown parties of planting maids in her home who have repeatedly stolen from her, contributing to both emotional and financial strain. “I can’t hire even maids because they planted maids in my house. I had such a bad experience with them stealing and doing all kinds of things,” she shared. “I’m not able to do any work. My house is a mess.”

 

Tanushree's Instagram post was accompanied by the caption, “I’m sick and tired of this harassment!! It’s been going on since 2018 #MeToo… Please someone help me! Do something before it’s too late.” Her post has reignited conversation about her role in the #MeToo movement in India, which began when she publicly accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassment during the filming of Horn Ok Pleasss in 2008—a claim he has consistently denied.

 

Known for her performances in films like Aashiq Banaya Apne, Dhol, and Bhagam Bhag, Tanushree Dutta was among the first voices in India’s #MeToo movement. This latest video has prompted an outpouring of concern and calls for support from fans and industry peers alike.
