Viral Wrap-Up Video Marks New Milestone for Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1

The much-anticipated prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara has officially wrapped filming, and to mark the occasion, the makers released a powerful behind-the-scenes video that has gone viral across social media. Titled “The Divine Journey,” the wrap-up glimpse offers an emotional and visually striking look at the intense three-year journey that brought Kantara: Chapter 1 to life. Actor-director Rishab Shetty narrates the video, which has already amassed over 3.6 million views, showcasing the passion and dedication of the team behind this culturally rich epic.

 

Shot over more than 250 days, Kantara: Chapter 1 delves into the mythological and historical roots of the legend, centuries before the events of the original film. Set during the reign of the Kadamba dynasty in Banavasi, the prequel sees Rishab Shetty in the role of a Naga Sadhu — a mystical warrior on a spiritual path. The film promises a unique blend of action, folklore, and deep-rooted mysticism, anchored by Shetty’s powerful vision and supported by stellar contributions from cinematographer Arvind Kashyap and composer B. Ajaneesh Loknath.

 

The production scale has been described as one of the most ambitious in Hombale Films' history. Producer Vijay Kiragandur emphasized the film’s significance in preserving India’s indigenous heritage, calling it “a tribute to our roots.” With Jayaram joining the cast in a pivotal role, and a pan-India release planned in seven languages — including Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, and English — Kantara: Chapter 1 is positioned as a truly cross-cultural cinematic offering.

 

Following the critical and commercial triumph of Kantara in 2022, which earned national awards and box office success, expectations for the prequel are soaring. As the October 2, 2025 release date approaches, the viral response to the wrap-up video underscores the growing anticipation.
