Bobby Deol’s Bandar Set for World Premiere at TIFF 2025

Actor Bobby Deol has unveiled the official poster for his upcoming film Bandar (Monkey in a Cage), revealing that the project has been selected for the prestigious 50th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Directed by Anurag Kashyap and inspired by true events, the film is scheduled to have its world premiere during the festival, which runs from September 4 to 14, 2025. The actor shared the news via social media, calling it “the story that should not have been told,” highlighting its provocative and potentially unsettling nature.

 

Bandar is described as a gritty, socially resonant drama that delves into systemic injustice and human exploitation, though plot specifics remain under wraps. With a script crafted by Sudip Sharma and a cast that includes Sanya Malhotra, Abhishek Banerjee, Raj B. Shetty, Jitendra Joshi, and Indrajith Sukumaran, the film appears to be an ensemble-driven narrative with a sharp political edge. Kashyap, known for pushing boundaries with films like Ugly and Gangs of Wasseypur, seems poised to deliver yet another challenging and globally relevant story.
