20th Century Unleashes First Trailer for Predator: Badlands, a Bold New Chapter in the Franchise

20th Century Studios has dropped the official trailer for Predator: Badlands, the latest entry in the long-running Predator franchise. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg (Prey), the sci-fi action film is set to release on November 7, 2025, and introduces a new narrative direction that explores the Predator mythology from a surprising perspective. The film stars Elle Fanning and rising talent Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi in a gritty, future-set survival story.

 

Set on a desolate planet in the far future, Predator: Badlands follows a young, exiled Predator (Schuster-Koloamatangi), cast out by his clan for unknown reasons. His path crosses with Thia (Fanning), a lone human survivor with secrets of her own. Forced into a fragile alliance, the two must navigate hostile terrain and deadly creatures as they seek out the ultimate opponent—each driven by purpose, but bound by survival. The trailer teases atmospheric world-building, brutal combat, and a unique human-alien dynamic rarely seen in the franchise.

 

Co-written by Trachtenberg and Patrick Aison, the screenplay builds on the critical success of Prey (2022), which reinvigorated the franchise by telling a contained, character-focused story.
