"It's Do or Die": Kangna Sharma Opens Up About Social Media Trolling and Mental Strength

Actress and digital star Kangna Sharma has broken her silence on the emotional impact of persistent social media trolling, revealing that what once felt manageable has recently become overwhelming. Reflecting on her early years in the industry, Kangna shared, “It’s been almost 6-7 years since I’ve been in this line… and to tell you honestly, it didn’t use to bother me all that much earlier.” She added that leaving her home to pursue acting meant committing fully, with no room for turning back: “It’s do or die… You’ve laid the stage, don’t be scared now to dance.”

Kangna, originally from Haryana, explained that when she started out, she had made a strong promise to herself and her fans to succeed. “You cannot go back home because you’ve made big promises… you’ve made this whole thing about being a strong girl. Now you don’t have a choice,” she said. Her determination and belief in herself shielded her from online hate early in her career. “I thought I’m the one doing it, I will do my best, and I trust myself completely.”

However, she admitted that the tone of online discourse has changed dramatically. “Now in the last couple of months, the trolling has been relentless… way too much,” she revealed. What began as occasional negativity has turned into large-scale online abuse, often fueled by individuals seeking attention by targeting her. “Some of them just want to get famous on behalf of you… and then their circle also gets involved… soon everything is just out of control,” she said.

Despite the challenges, Kangna Sharma continues to be a prominent name across films, television, and digital entertainment. From her debut in Great Grand Masti to music videos like Yaar Ni Milya, and her acclaimed role in Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh, Piyaji, her journey reflects resilience and adaptability. As she faces the darker side of fame, her openness about the emotional toll of trolling sends a powerful message about mental health and the pressure of living up to public expectations in today’s digital age.
