Sanya Malhotra To Headline Untitled Action-Comedy, Launching Aagaaz Entertainment’s 2025 Slate

Actress Sanya Malhotra is stepping into an all-new avatar — and genre — as she headlines an untitled action-comedy produced by Aagaaz Entertainment Pvt Ltd, kicking off the banner’s ambitious 2025 content lineup. The project will be directed by Kapil Sharma (not to be confused with the comedian), and produced by Neeraj Tiwari and Mukesh Gupta, with support from Ratpack Stories and TravelinBone Entertainment, a Los Angeles-based studio — hinting at global aspirations for the film.

 

Known for her powerful performances in Pagglait, Kathal, and Photograph, Malhotra’s move into high-energy action and comedy marks a sharp and refreshing pivot in her career. Backed by her growing critical acclaim — including a Filmfare OTT Award — this role could showcase an untapped side of the actress. With the film set to blend adrenaline with laughs, it’s poised to tap into both mass entertainment and Sanya’s relatability as a performer.

 

The film also marks a significant evolution for Neeraj Tiwari, whose experience in film distribution (notably with Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana) is now channeled into full-scale production. His company, Aagaaz Entertainment, has committed to a five-film slate for 2025, with this untitled project as its flagship release. By collaborating with global partners like TravelinBone Entertainment, the team is clearly eyeing wider markets and diverse audiences.

 

While there’s limited data on the success of cross-genre Indian films led by female action stars, the project is shaping up to be a bold experiment — one that challenges typecasting and traditional hero-led formulas.
