Taron Egerton Fights for Family in Explosive Trailer for She Rides Shotgun

Lionsgate has just dropped the gripping trailer for She Rides Shotgun, and it’s everything you’d want from a gritty action-thriller—with heart. Directed by Nick Rowland (Calm with Horses), the film stars Taron Egerton as Nate, a freshly released ex-con who finds himself instantly thrown back into danger. His mission? Stay alive—and protect his estranged 11-year-old daughter from a vicious gang and a corrupt sheriff who have marked them both.

 

Egerton trades in the slick spy suits of Kingsman for bruises, blood, and bullet wounds, showing off a grizzled edge that feels both raw and redemptive. But the real surprise here is young Ana Sophia Heger, playing Polly, his daughter. Shy and cautious at first, Polly is suddenly thrust into a violent world she doesn't understand. Yet, as the trailer shows, she’s no damsel—this kid has fight, and watching the duo evolve into a bonded, badass team is part of the thrill.

Based on Jordan Harper’s award-winning novel, the film is adapted for screen by Harper himself, along with Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski (The Night House). With a killer supporting cast including Rob Yang, Keith Jardine, and John Carroll Lynch, She Rides Shotgun is revving up to be a wild, emotional ride when it hits theaters on August 1, 2025.
