Afterburn Trailer Is Out, Starring Dave Bautista and Samuel L Jackson

Inaugural Entertainment has just dropped the high-voltage trailer for Afterburn, a wild sci-fi action-comedy directed by JJ Perry (Day Shift), and it’s as chaotic, cool, and combustible as you’d hope. Starring the unstoppable Dave Bautista alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Olga Kurylenko, Kristofer Hivju, Eden Epstein, and Daniel Bernhardt, the film blends treasure hunting, mutant battles, and post-apocalyptic madness into one delightfully unhinged package.

 

Set ten years after a devastating solar flare fries Earth’s technology and leaves half the planet mutated and radioactive, Afterburn follows a scrappy team of treasure hunters on a mission to recover the world’s lost cultural gems—from the Mona Lisa to the Crown Jewels—before rival crews, mutants, and pirates get to them first. It’s Mad Max meets Indiana Jones, with a side of Guardians of the Galaxy swagger.

 

Bautista leads the charge with his signature mix of brawn and charm, while Jackson brings the sharp wit and firepower you’d expect. Olga Kurylenko adds stealth and style, while Kristofer Hivju (a.k.a. everyone's favorite wildling from Game of Thrones) looks right at home in the post-apocalyptic chaos. Add in freaky creatures, wild tech, and high-speed chases through irradiated wastelands, and you've got a recipe for summer blockbuster mayhem.

 

Based on the comic book by Scott Chitwood and Paul Ens, and adapted by Nimród Antal and Matt Johnson, Afterburn promises to be a genre-bending thrill ride full of nostalgia, explosions, and mutated madness.
