VELS Film International Unveils 10-Film Slate – A Bold Vision for Tamil Cinema’s Future

VELS Film International has made a bold and visionary announcement with the unveiling of its 10-film slate, scheduled for release between 2025 and 2027. Titled “10 Visionaries. 10 Movies. 1 Studio.”, the studio revealed the lineup through an impactful video post that has generated significant buzz across social media. Under the leadership of Kalaimamani awardee Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh, VELS is positioning itself at the forefront of Tamil cinema’s next wave — combining mainstream appeal with auteur-driven storytelling.

 

The slate brings together some of the most respected and innovative filmmakers in Indian cinema. It includes cinematic heavyweights like Vetrimaaran, known for hard-hitting, socially resonant films such as Asuran; Gautham Vasudev Menon, celebrated for his emotionally layered romantic dramas; and Mari Selvaraj, acclaimed for his powerful narratives rooted in caste and social politics. The lineup also features crowd-pleasing director Sundar C, known for delivering over 30 commercial hits, along with Prem Kumar (96), Jude Anthany Joseph (2018), Arunraja Kamaraj, Vignesh Raja, Chella Ayyavu, and Ganesh K. Babu — all of whom represent the evolving, content-driven fabric of Tamil cinema.

 

Notably, the slate also introduces a new voice — YouTuber VJ Sidhu, who is making his directorial debut under the VELS banner, reflecting the studio’s commitment to fostering emerging talent alongside established names.

 

Star power adds further weight to the lineup, with actors like Dhanush, Nayanthara, Vishnu Vishal, and Jayam Ravi set to headline various projects. This blend of visionary direction and popular actors ensures both creative richness and broad audience appeal.
