Kannappa The Movie Issues Strong Public Caution Notice Ahead of June 27 Release

With just days to go before the global release of Kannappa, the official team behind the film has issued a strongly worded Public Caution Notice, making it clear that any misuse, misrepresentation, or defamatory activity against the film or its stakeholders will invite legal action. The film, produced by Twenty Four Frames Factory Pvt. Ltd., is set to hit screens worldwide on June 27, 2025, and stars Vishnu Manchu in the titular role, under the patronage of veteran actor Mohan Babu.

 

The official statement emphasizes that Kannappa is the result of “immense artistic dedication, untiring efforts, and substantial commercial investment,” and has been developed through lawful, legitimate means with all requisite certifications and intellectual property protections in place. The producers have appealed for responsible critique, urging individuals to engage with the film’s substance rather than reacting with “premeditated biases or vendetta-fuelled commentary.”

 

Importantly, the notice also cites precedents from Indian courts — including observations by the High Courts of Kerala and Delhi — to reinforce that while freedom of expression is constitutionally protected, malicious attacks on creative works or individuals are not. The statement underscores the legal backing provided to the personality and publicity rights of both Mohan Babu and Vishnu Manchu, warning that any defamation, impersonation, or unauthorized use of their image or likeness may result in legal consequences.

 

The move comes in light of prior disruptions faced during the film’s production. The team has signaled it will remain vigilant, ready to take action across civil, criminal, and cyber forums, should there be any attempt to unlawfully stream or distort the film. With just days remaining until release, the message is clear: Kannappa is a labor of love and lawfully protected creative expression — and the makers intend to ensure it gets the fair reception they believe it has earned.
