Massive Fire Breaks Out on Anupamaa Set, No Injuries Reported

In a deeply unsettling incident, a massive fire broke out on the sets of the popular television show Anupamaa early this morning. The blaze reportedly began around 5 a.m., just two hours before the day’s shoot was scheduled to begin. The timing of the fire could have led to a serious tragedy, as a large number of cast and crew members were already present on set. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, and everyone is confirmed to be safe.

 

The cause of the fire is still unknown, but visuals from the site show extensive damage to key parts of the production area. In light of the incident, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has stepped forward, demanding a thorough investigation. Their statement emphasized the importance of strict safety protocols on television sets, especially on long-running, high-pressure daily soap productions where large crews and tight schedules are the norm.

 

Anupamaa, produced by Rajan Shahi and Deepa Shahi under Director’s Kut Productions, has been one of Indian television's most beloved and widely watched shows. It’s a Hindi remake of the Bengali series Sreemoyee and stars Rupali Ganguly in the lead role. The show initially featured Sudhanshu Pandey, Madalsa Sharma, and Gaurav Khanna, and since October 2024, has shifted its focus to a new generation of characters played by Adrija Roy and Shivam Khajuria, with Ganguly continuing her iconic portrayal.

 

Fans and colleagues across the industry have expressed relief that no one was hurt, while also voicing concern over set safety standards. As investigations begin, the incident serves as a sobering reminder of the behind-the-scenes risks faced by the entertainment industry. For now, production is expected to be temporarily halted while damage is assessed and repairs begin.
