Diljit Dosanjh Drops Trailer for Sardaar Ji 3, Announces Overseas-Only Release

Diljit Dosanjh has unveiled the much-anticipated trailer for Sardaar Ji 3, the latest installment in his hit supernatural comedy franchise. Sharing it on his social media platforms, Diljit announced, “Sardaar Ji 3 releasing 27th June OVERSEAS only, FADH LAO BHOOND DIAN LATTAN.” The film promises a quirky ghost-hunting adventure, staying true to the tone fans have come to love from the series.

Directed by Amar Hundal, Sardaar Ji 3 follows ghost hunter Jaggi and his spirited sidekick Pinky as they investigate a haunted castle in the UK. Their investigation leads them into eerie territory as they encounter a defiant ghost and a long-buried secret. Alongside Diljit, the film stars Neeru Bajwa and Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, along with Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar, and Saleem Albela.

However, the casting of Hania Aamir has stirred controversy online. A section of netizens criticized Diljit for including the Pakistani star, citing her alleged remarks following Operation Sindoor. The backlash appears to have influenced the film’s release strategy—Diljit confirmed that Sardaar Ji 3 will not be screened in Indian cinemas due to ongoing political tensions between India and Pakistan. The film is set for an international release only, beginning June 27.

While the decision to skip a domestic release disappointed many Indian fans, others appreciated Diljit's honesty and the film's bold direction. As global Punjabi audiences gear up for Sardaar Ji 3, the film marks another moment in Diljit’s evolving career, one that continues to bridge borders through art—even when it sparks difficult conversations.
