Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga took to social media today, June 21, to mark the six-year anniversary of his polarizing yet massively successful film Kabir Singh. Sharing a nostalgic poster featuring Kiara Advani drenched in Holi colors, Vanga wrote, “Thanks for the love, 6 years for Kabir,” tagging the film’s key cast and crew, including Shahid Kapoor, music composers, and producers. The visual and timing are poignant—symbolizing the film’s blend of emotional chaos and cinematic intensity that continues to evoke strong reactions years later.

 

Released on June 21, 2019, Kabir Singh was the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit Arjun Reddy, also directed by Vanga. Despite stirring controversy over its portrayal of toxic masculinity and emotional volatility, the film went on to gross over $40 million worldwide, becoming the 9th highest-grossing Indian film at the time.
