Co-directed by Adrian Molina (Coco), Madeline Sharafian (Burrow), and Domee Shi (Turning Red), Elio is a sci-fi adventure comedy filled with Pixar’s signature blend of humor, emotion, and visual splendor.
At the heart of the story is Elio, an 11-year-old introvert with a big imagination, voiced by Yonas Kibreab. More comfortable indoors and lost in his drawings than navigating real-life friendships, Elio is suddenly thrust into an interstellar mess when a mysterious alien signal—decoded by his mom Olga (voiced by Zoe Saldaña)—accidentally beams him into space. There, he's mistaken for the official Ambassador of Earth by a bizarre alien council.
The film also features voice work from Remy Edgerly, Brad Garrett, Jameela Jamil, Shirley Henderson, and others, bringing a diverse and quirky alien universe to life. The trailer teases a colorful galaxy brimming with fantastical creatures, high-stakes misunderstandings, and a young protagonist learning to embrace who he is.
