“There came a time when people started telling me, that there is something wrong with you, and you should get yourself checked or get some Pandit check you or something,” Amol recalled with amusement. “Once I almost drowned in a small swimming pool — see, I don’t know swimming — and there is this scene in Kull, where I had to do something, and everyone else was busy with their stuff, and no one came to check on me. I almost drowned, though it was a small pool, but I don’t know swimming.”
And that wasn’t the only mishap. “There is one more scene where Nimrit and Ridhi are there, and we’re all shouting at each other. In the scene, Ridhi is supposed to push me, and she pushed me — I went straight onto a glass table, and it broke. Then there’s a scene where Shivani was supposed to throw her phone at me — and she actually hit me. I was stunned. I had to check if I was bleeding. I swelled up and had to apply ice. So the shoot wasn’t without injuries or incident.”
Kull, which premiered on JioHotstar, is a dark family drama starring Nimrat Kaur, Amol Parashar, and Ridhi Dogra, and is created by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under Balaji Digital. Directed by Sahir Raza, it delves into power struggles, secrets, and legacy, but clearly it took a bit of a physical toll on its cast too.
On a more lighthearted note, Amol also talked about the pressure of staying active on social media. “I do make reels for fun, but to be honest, I really don’t get any ideas about them by myself. It’s everyone else that keeps telling me to make reels. I get one idea about a reel in 10–15 days. I really cannot do or get ideas on an everyday basis. I know there is pressure to make reels, but I can’t do it. I find it fun, but only when I have an idea — or if someone else comes up with one.”
Between his reel-life drama and real-life bumps and bruises, Amol Parashar proves that some roles take more than just talent — they require a good dose of courage (and maybe an ice pack or two).
