Sree Venkateswara Cinemas Celebrates Nagarjuna’s 39-Year Legacy as Kuberaa Prepares for Release

Veteran star Nagarjuna Akkineni is being honored in grand style as he marks 39 remarkable years in the Indian film industry. The team behind the upcoming film Kuberaa commemorated the milestone with a regal new poster and a heartfelt message: “A king-sized glory continues.” Shared by Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP, the tribute not only celebrates Nagarjuna's cinematic journey but also builds anticipation for his next big release, Kuberaa, which hits theatres on June 20, 2025.

 

Directed by Sekhar Kammula, Kuberaa is a multi-lingual social thriller that stars Nagarjuna in a pivotal role, alongside Dhanush and Rashmika Mandanna. The film explores themes of power, wealth, and moral conflict, shot across key Indian locations including Hyderabad, Tirupati, and Mumbai. One of the film’s standout moments—a 12-hour shoot featuring Dhanush near a Mumbai landfill—has already drawn attention for its gritty realism and commitment to narrative depth.

 

Ahead of the film’s release, the makers have planned a special promotional phase titled the “Trance of Kuberaa,” beginning May 25, 2025. This campaign aims to immerse audiences in the psychological and spiritual undertones of the film, with Nagarjuna’s character at its center—a role that reportedly blends mysticism and intensity, reflecting his evolution as an actor over the decades.

 

The film’s title recently stirred headlines due to a legal tussle over naming rights, with producer Karmikonda Narendra asserting prior claim to “Kubera” for his completed project. Despite this, the makers of Kuberaa have forged ahead, backed by a strong creative team including music composer Devi Sri Prasad and producers Suniel Narang, Puskur Ram Mohan Rao, and Bharat Narang. As Nagarjuna completes nearly four decades in the industry, Kuberaa is shaping up to be both a celebration of his legacy and a bold, genre-bending addition to his filmography.
