Dhanush Unveiled as ‘Deva’ in New Kuberaa Poster Ahead of ‘Trance of Kuberaa’ Event

With the release date drawing near, the makers of Kuberaa have unveiled a captivating new poster featuring Dhanush in his much-anticipated role as Deva. Shared by Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP, the poster is part of the film’s pre-release promotional campaign, specifically teasing the upcoming Trance of Kuberaa event scheduled for May 25, 2025. The caption, “Deva will swoon your hearts,” sets the tone for what promises to be a compelling glimpse into the enigmatic world of Kuberaa.

 

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sekhar Kammula, Kuberaa is a pan-India social thriller simultaneously shot in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. The film features an impressive ensemble cast including Dhanush, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil. Produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Rammohan Rao under Amigos Creations, the film is scheduled for a global theatrical release on June 20, 2025.

 

The new poster highlights Dhanush in an intense and layered avatar, with a cityscape subtly woven into the design—a visual nod to the film’s urban setting and thematic complexity. The character of Deva, now confirmed to be portrayed by Dhanush, appears central to the film’s core conflict, reflecting themes of power, identity, and transformation. The artistic presentation reinforces the film’s genre as a thought-provoking thriller with a deep emotional undercurrent.

 

Following a legal title dispute in 2024 that led to the renaming of the film from Kubera to Kuberaa, the project has steadily gained momentum. With music composed by Devi Sri Prasad, cinematography by Niketh Bommireddy, and production design by the legendary Thota Tharani, the film boasts high production values. The upcoming Trance of Kuberaa promotional drop on May 25—which coincides with Geek Pride Day and Global Africa Day—is strategically timed to create a cultural buzz ahead of the film's June release.
