HBO Max Unveils Gripping First Teaser for Brad Ingelsby’s Crime Drama Task

HBO Max has dropped the first look teaser trailer for its upcoming crime drama series Task, a gritty and emotionally charged show created and showrun by Brad Ingelsby (Mare of Easttown). Set in the rugged, working-class suburbs of Philadelphia, the series follows an FBI-led task force investigating a wave of violent drug-house robberies that shake the community to its core. Slated for a September 2025 premiere, Task already promises a complex blend of crime, character, and moral conflict.

 

Oscar nominee Mark Ruffalo leads the cast as FBI Agent Tom, a seasoned investigator tasked with dismantling the robbery ring. His pursuit unexpectedly centers on a seemingly average family man, played by Tom Pelphrey (Ozark), whose quiet suburban life conceals a darker role in the escalating violence. The teaser offers a tense, atmospheric glimpse into the show’s tone—moody, suspenseful, and emotionally raw.
