In a proud father-son moment, Ajay Devgn and his son Yug Devgan are all set to make their voice acting debut in the international film Karate Kid: Legends. At the trailer launch held in Mumbai on Wednesday, Ajay revealed that he will be voicing Mr. Han, a character originally portrayed by Jackie Chan, while Yug lends his voice to Li Fong, played by Ben Wang.
In an emotional moment at the trailer event, Ajay Devgn also took a moment to honor the bravery of Indian soldiers and the armed forces."Nobody wants war. But sometimes, when there’s no choice left... then there’s no choice left," he said solemnly."I salute our armed forces. I salute the government. They had to do what they did—and they did a great job. I thank them very much from the bottom of my heart."
Talking about Yug, he couldn’t be prouder that his son is making his debut in the same project."I feel very proud. When Yug started dubbing, I was told he would first do rehearsals. But then I got a call saying he was so good that some of his takes were actually being kept in the final version!" Ajay shared, beaming with pride."Yug called me up to ask if he could let me hear his dubbing. He put it on speaker and played it for me. That felt very nice."
Ajay, known for his calm persona, joked about his son's confident energy:"He keeps making fun of me and bullying me. But I’m very happy because he has this passion from childhood—not because of films, but because it genuinely interests him.He trains in various things, works out on his own, plans and prepares his own meals. He’s very disciplined. It’s all coming from within him."
Talking about Yug’s excitement for the project, he said:"He was really excited when he got this offer. At this age, he wants to work—not in films necessarily, but he just wants to work. And when he started, he was so excited he even threw a few tantrums!"
When asked if he gave Yug any advice on dubbing, Ajay kept it simple:"Nothing specific—just be confident and go ahead."
