Industry Leaders Explore Future of Content at 'Digital Era' Panel on Day 2 of WAVES 2025

The second day of the WAVES 2025 Summit in Mumbai continued to spark dynamic conversations around the evolving landscape of media and entertainment, with a standout panel titled “Digital Era” drawing attention from across the industry. The session brought together a diverse group of thought leaders, creators, and executives who are shaping the future of content in an increasingly digital world.

Among the prominent names on the panel were Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, content head and producer known for her sharp creative instincts, and Siddharth Roy Kapur, one of India’s most influential film producers. Joining them were media strategist Supriya Varlagadda, creative executive Tanya Bomi, and Oscar-winning producer Guneet Monga. Together, they unpacked how streaming platforms, creator-led content, and global collaboration are redefining storytelling in India and beyond.

The discussion touched on a wide range of themes, from monetization models in OTT to the democratization of storytelling through digital platforms. Panelists emphasized the importance of giving voice to regional and independent creators, while also noting the rising global appetite for Indian narratives. Guneet Monga, in particular, highlighted how authentic stories from India are not just surviving but thriving internationally, thanks to digital distribution and a growing interest in diverse content.

With over 100,000 attendees at the government-hosted summit, the Digital Era panel reflected WAVES 2025’s larger mission—to establish India as a global content creation powerhouse. As the world watches India’s next digital moves, this panel underscored a clear message: the future of entertainment is borderless, and India is ready to lead.
