Farhan Akhtar Partners with Maharashtra Cyber Police to Launch Helpline for Cyberbullying Victims

Bollywood actor and social advocate Farhan Akhtar has once again stepped forward to make a significant impact on an important social issue. In a recent event in Mumbai, Farhan teamed up with the Maharashtra Cyber Police and non-profit organization Brush of Hope to launch a helpline number dedicated to assisting victims of cyberbullying and online abuse. This initiative aims to provide timely help and support to those facing online threats, ensuring that they have access to proper resources to deal with cybercrimes.

At the launch, Farhan emphasized the importance of staying vigilant against cybercrimes, urging people to recognize the significance of taking the right steps to protect themselves and others from online harassment. The actor’s passionate speech highlighted the need for awareness and swift action when dealing with cyberbullying, as it can have a lasting impact on individuals' mental and emotional well-being.

When questioned about celebrities becoming victims of cyberbullying, Farhan acknowledged that it is an issue affecting everyone, not just public figures. "They are also human beings, and it can happen to anyone," Farhan said. He went on to praise the efforts of the Maharashtra Cyber Cell and Brush of Hope for creating a structured and accessible system that allows people—regardless of gender or age—to gain access to much-needed help in times of crisis. "It is very heartening to see that these tools are out there for kids, girls or boys, men and women, to seek assistance," he added.

On the professional front, Farhan Akhtar recently produced the film The Superboys of Malegaon, alongside Zoya Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. Released in theatres on February 28, the film tells the inspiring story of Nasir Shaikh, an aspiring filmmaker from the small town of Malegaon, who, despite numerous obstacles, works with his friends to turn their dream of making movies into a reality. Starring Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Shashank Arora, the film is based on a true story and showcases the struggles and triumphs of three friends determined to follow their passion, even without the resources to travel to Mumbai.

Farhan’s involvement in both social advocacy and the entertainment industry continues to inspire many, with his latest initiative providing a crucial lifeline for individuals facing the growing issue of cyberbullying. With The Superboys of Malegaon and his ongoing efforts to raise awareness about cybercrimes, Farhan Akhtar is proving once again that his work extends beyond the silver screen, making a real difference in society.
