Anurag Kashyap Joins the Cast of Dacoit, Adding Depth to the Intense Action Drama

The much-anticipated pan-India action drama Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh, has taken another thrilling turn with the addition of acclaimed director and actor Anurag Kashyap to the cast. Known for his powerful performances and sharp cinematic vision, Kashyap will portray a fearless police inspector with a deep devotion to Lord Ayyappa. His character, marked by sharp wit, sarcasm, and an unwavering stance against corruption, promises to bring a new dimension to the film's already gripping narrative.

 

The film, which also stars Mrunal Thakur as the female lead, is set against a backdrop of intense action and drama. The latest poster for Dacoit has further fueled anticipation, offering a glimpse into the gritty, emotion-filled journey of its protagonist. Dacoit follows the story of an enraged convict seeking revenge on his ex-girlfriend, who betrayed him. Speaking about his role, Anurag Kashyap expressed his excitement for the character, stating, "Playing a police officer who is an Ayyappa devotee is both fun and challenging. The conundrums of duty versus dharma, and to go about doing his job with a dry sense of humor, is fantastic. I am truly looking forward to playing this character in two languages, shooting in both Hindi and Telugu. The challenge is to maintain the same impact in both languages, which is something I’m thoroughly enjoying."

 

Directed by Shaneil Deo in his directorial debut, Dacoit is an ambitious project that has been carefully crafted by a team of talented filmmakers. The film is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda, co-produced by Suniel Narang, and presented by Annapurna Studios. It is being filmed simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu, with the story and screenplay co-written by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo. Currently filming in Hyderabad, the production will soon move to Maharashtra for an extensive shooting schedule.
