Marco Celebrates 50 Days in Theatres, Becomes Highest-Grossing A-Rated Malayalam Film

The makers of Marco are celebrating a major milestone as the film marks 50 days in theatres, continuing to run successfully across Kerala and beyond. The neo-noir action thriller has quickly made its mark as the highest-grossing A-rated Malayalam film of all time, securing its position as the sixth highest-grossing Malayalam film of the year and the ninth highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. With its strong box office performance, Marco has become a cinematic sensation, captivating both audiences and critics alike.

 

Directed by Haneef Adeni and written by him as well, Marco stars Unni Mukundan in the titular role, delivering a riveting performance. The film also features an impressive ensemble cast, including Siddique, Jagadish, Abhimanyu Shammi Thilakan, Kabir Duhan Singh, Anson Paul, and Yukti Thareja in supporting roles. Set against the backdrop of gripping action, Marco showcases high-stakes drama and thrilling twists. Music for the film was composed by Ravi Basrur, while cinematography by Chandru Selvaraj and editing by Shameer Muhammed elevate the film’s intense atmosphere.

 

The film serves as a spinoff of the 2019 hit Mikhael, though the two films are not directly connected in terms of storyline. Marco draws on some of the beloved characters from Mikhael, placing them in a fresh, distinct setting that has resonated with audiences. Released on December 20, 2024, Marco arrived just in time for the Christmas season, adding to its widespread appeal.
