Anora stars Mikey Madison as Ani, a young Uzbek-American stripper from Brighton Beach, a Russophone enclave in New York City. Ani, who has some knowledge of Russian, is set up by her boss with a Russian-speaking client. This leads to a chance meeting with Vanya, the son of a powerful Russian oligarch.
What begins as a romantic encounter quickly escalates into a whirlwind romance, culminating in their elopement during a trip to Las Vegas. However, their fairytale marriage faces a serious threat when Vanya's parents arrive in New York, determined to force an annulment.
