Raveena Tandon was interacting with the media to promote her forthcoming film, about education scam.
When asked about playing debut sort of role, and any guideline she follows before saying yes to a project, Raveena said, “There is no guideline for me, I just need to like the story. This story of Patna Shuklla is close to my heart, this is something I need to do for the youth of this country. We are privileged, we have resources, but what about people like Rinki Kumari, whose father put everything on-line to get her daughter educated, and someone stole her future from her, and how does a commoner fight this battle, we need to put this out there.”
Further adding Raveena said court-room drama is her favorite genre, she said, “This is the first time I am playing a lawyer in my life, prior to Patna Shuklla, I haven’t done any courtroom drama film or show, this is my first time, though I personally love court-room drama and crime thrillers, these are two of my favorite genres which I would like to watch again and again.”
Starting with KGF Chapter 2, Aranyak, and Karmma Calling, Raveena has played a different avatar in each new release, and her role of Patna Shuklla is also different.
When asked about it, she said, “Mumbai girl, big city girl, or high society girl, kind of roles were being offered, when I picked up the role of Aranyak, I wanted to pick something which was unique, something which I have never played before, some goes for my role of KGF, or Indrani in Kramma Calling, I enjoyed playing all these roles, it was a challenge for me.”
Directed and written by Vivek Budakoti, it also stars Satish Kaushik, Manav Vij, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Raju Kher, Jatin Goswami, and Anushka Kaushik.
‘Patna Shukla’ will be streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from March 29.
