Aditi Rao Hydari Misses 'Heeramandi' Event Due to Wedding, Leading Ladies Shine at Mahalakshmi Race Course

Actress Aditi Rao Hydari, who recently tied the knot with actor Siddharth, was unable to attend a special event for her upcoming streaming series 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.' The event, organized by the makers of the series, took place at Mumbai’s Mahalakshmi Race Course and featured a spectacular drone show to announce the release date of the series.

Despite Aditi's absence, the event was a star-studded affair with the leading ladies of 'Heeramandi' – Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Sheikh – in attendance. The actresses looked stunning in traditional Indian attire, reflecting the theme, look, and feel of the series.

'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' marks the web series debut of acclaimed Indian filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Known for his meticulous attention to detail and exquisite aesthetics, Bhansali's foray into the digital space has been highly anticipated.

The series is set against the backdrop of Heera Mandi, the red-light district in Lahore, during the Indian independence movement against the British Raj. It promises to offer a poignant and insightful look into the lives of the mistresses in Heera Mandi during a tumultuous period in history.

Adding to the excitement, the first song from the series' original soundtrack, 'Sakal Ban,' composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself, with lyrics by Amir Khusro and sung by Raja Hasan, was released on March 8, 2024, to rave reviews.

Despite Aditi Rao Hydari's absence, the event was a resounding success, showcasing the grandeur and elegance that audiences can expect from 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.' With a stellar cast, a visionary director, and a compelling storyline, the series is poised to captivate viewers and leave a lasting impact when it premieres on the streaming platform.
