While interacting with Newshelpline, actor Vinit Kakar claimed, he had met Poonam recently and she had no sign or symptoms of cancer, “I hope this news is fake, because I think this is just one big hoax, it is fake. I know Poonam, she is a strong lady. After Lockupp, I have met Poonam a couple of times, I met her during Dhakkad premiere, during Payal’s wedding and recently I met her at Sagar’s birthday bash, we partied hard, this was couple of months back, Sagar directed the Lockupp show.”
“In the party, Poonam was looking fit and fine, she had no sign or symptoms of cancer. She was looking all hail and hearty. It is fake news, and I am sure we will know about it in a couple of days. I think someone hacked her Instagram, she is not available on the phone. Someone is reporting her body is in Pune, someone is reporting it's in Kanpur, there is no confirmation from the family, there is no concrete info, someone hacked her social media and played some sort of joke. I refuse to believe this news, this is one hundred percent fake” added Vinit.
When asked what prompted Vinit to believe that this is a fake news, he added, “When I heard the news, I reached out of the other contestants of Lockupp and none of us believed the news, it was heart-breaking to read about it, but the more I dug into it, the more I got certain someone is playing here. I don’t think I trust some PR or managing team, that is too thin.”
When asked if Poonam is pulling a fast one of everyone, Vinit said, “I don’t think Poonam will such a cheap publicity stunt, she is not like that, this is doing of someone who hacked her handle”
“She is a very kind soul, she is always cordial, and as a human being she is excellent” added Vinit.
Poonam’s last IG posts were about her holiday in Goa and the actress, who never kept anything about her life out of the public domain, made no mention about suffering from something as serious as cervical cancer.
