Spy action-thriller written and directed by P. S. Mithran and produced Prince Pictures. The film stars Karthi in a dual role alongside Raashii Khanna, Rajisha Vijayan, Chunky Pandey, Laila, Rithvik, Munishkanth, Avinash, Yugi Sethu and Balaji Sakthivel in pivotal roles. The film opened with a bang at ticket window, racking up a 100 crore plus business.

The film marks Hindi film actor Chunky Panday's debut and Laila's comeback to Tamil cinema.
The sequel, Sardar 2, will features the main ensemble, reprising their roles with few new additions. The release date of the sequel is still unannounced.
Apart from Sardar, actor Karthi will soon be seen in Japan, a crime comedy film directed by Raju Murugan and produced by S. R. Prabhu under Dream Warrior Pictures. The will release on Diwali.
