Avnish Barjatya was interacting with Newshelpline during a promotional interview for Dono, his directorial debut, starring debutante Rajveer Deol and Paloma Dhillon.
When asked about starting a new chapter in his life, Avnish said, “I have always dreamed of making a film, the feeling is quite unique, I will get to showcase my film to everyone, it is unbelievable. Hopefully, it will be the best chapter yet. I feel lucky to have had this opportunity.”
Apart from directing, Avnish has co-written the script and says it is all about love and relationship, which might have changed in its expression for hasn’t changed as an emotion.
He said, “When I wrote the script of Dono, I guess, I wrote it according to my own age group. I mean, the way I saw relationships, and people around me, the way they saw relationships, I have written a story about that only. Love is an emotion, and this emotion, Love has been the same over the generations, everyone has experienced love, but the way to express it has been different with everyone, the way society sees love might have changed, but the emotion stays the same.”
“I sort of looked at friends and relatives, their way of looking at relationships, especially the way family looks at relationships. When someone gets married, it’s not just two people coming together, it is two families that are bonded, so I have explored that as well. So, the film Dono talks about love, the institution of marriage, but also about the families that come together and how their lives changes” added Avnish.
It is jointly produced by Rajshri Productions and Jio Studios. The film is set to release on 5 October 2023.
