Helmed by Sujoy Ghosh, the film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, and Vijay Varma, the film is based on The Devotion of Suspect X, the 2005 bestselling novel by Japanese author Higashino Keigo.
The trailer starts with mysterious Maya D'Souza (played by Kareena Kapoor), whose life is changed after a knock on the door from her neighbor Naren (Jaideep Ahlawat).
Set in Kalimpong, the film showcases the story of Maya, whose life is anything but an open book. A Mumbai Police officer who goes by the name Karan Anand (Vijay Varma) is searching for a missing person, whom Maya had killed and hid her body.
Karan is friends with Naren, and both are smitten by Maya. And now Maya, Naren and Karan are entangled in this web of lies, deceit, desire, lust and jealousy.
The film is slated for 21st September 2023 release.
