To celebrate World Organ Donation Day, the HN Reliance Foundation Hospital organised Mumbai's largest organ donation walkathon in presence of actor Riteish Deshmukh, Tarang Gianchandani, Commissioner of Mumbai police, eminent police officials, traffic police and organ recipients to spread awareness about Organ Donation.
Riteish Deshmukh expressed his gratitude towards Reliance Foundation for their initiatives to promote and enable organ transplants, urging the government to provide incentives to donor families to further provide impetus to organ donation in India.
He said, “It’s just the doctors, but the entire team that felicitates the entire organ donor process, I would like to personally thank all of them.”
“Before leaving I just want to thank and wish the entire foundation the best. The kind of inspiring work you guys are doing, which inspires the other hospitals to follow, I am extremely honoured to be here, thank you very much for inviting me” added the actor.
Riteish also felicitated organ donors for their selfless act. He even wrote a message and hung it on the wall of fame for organ donors.
