Two years of lockdown has left single screen and multiplexes in dire crisis, with movies barely making enough to cover the release cost, the future of cinema halls owners looks bleak, and now Mona Singh shares some insight into it.
While interacting with Newshelpline during COTO App interactive session, we asked Mona Singh about dire state of cinema halls, and she said, “I think the audience is getting smart, they know if the film has released today in cinema halls, it will be out on some OTT platform within 2 weeks, and we will watch it there, I think this is not working very well for the theaters, I feel that this system should change somewhere.”
Talking about the success of her hit show, Kafas, actor Mona Singh said, “I am happy about Kafas, I am getting such great reviews for it, such a story has never been made before. So, it’s the first time for an Indian audience to witness something like Kafas. Even the title had its own intrigue, so I am happy that people have watched it and enjoyed it, it’s a good feeling.”
Mona Singh has lined-up a slew of shows and movies for release. Talking about them, she said, “This year four of my shows will stream, one is releasing in August, one in October, then my movie is releasing next year, so everything is going well, I am happy with the kind of work I am doing.”
Mona Singh starrer Kafas is an official adaption of the 2019 British miniseries Dark Money, also starring Sharman Joshi.
