Boman Irani graced the Hindi premiere of Welcome Zindagi, the Guarajti play has been enacted more than 800 times and now being staged in Hindi.
When asked about his upcoming projects, Boman confirmed, “Shooting of Dunki is complete, I’ve been working on my film for almost 4-5 months, I will direct my movie, I wrote and produced it as well, the work is going on, I will be able to finish the film by December.”
Not so long ago, Arshad Warsi made an announcement that Munna Bhai 3 will soon go on the floors, when asked Boman about it, he said, “I have no idea about Munna Bhai 3, I seriously don’t know, if Arshad has announced an update, I am more than excited.”
Boman Irani, who shares a special affinity towards stage-plays said, “Abhijat Joshi’s brother wrote it, and I don’t remember whether I was shooting for PK or Sanju, when Abhijat told me few scenes from the play, and watching them in real was quite a surreal experience. The play has been done 800 times in Gujarati and now its Hindi edition is being staged”
“The play explores a thought that somehow is being stuck in every father, mother, brother, sister or person’s mind and how it affects them, the entire performance was sublime, I feel so proud and happy to watch this play” added Boman.
When asked if the play should be made into a movie, Boman said, “I haven’t thought about it, but why not? The subject is universal, a very specific subject, it’s about a father, mother and child, so yeah, it could be made”
Welcome Zindagi play is written, directed, and acted by Saumya Joshi, along with Abhinav Bankar, and Jigna Vyas. The 2 hour long play is one of its kind stage productions, which doesn’t have any breaks.
