El eclipse lunar total fue visible en toda Amrica del Norte en las horas previas al amanecer y en toda Asia, Australia y el resto del Pacfico tras la puesta de sol. Es el segundo eclipse lunar total de este ao; el primero fue en mayo. El prximo no ser hasta 2025.
