Ranveer Singh was talking to NewsHelpline during an interactive session at FICCI Frames Fast Track 2022 convention.
We asked Ranveer Singh whether his forthcoming releases, Cirkus and Rocky Aur Rani Ke Prem Kahani, lighthearted comedy drama, being a conscious choice, and he said, “It is a very personal thing, I feel like that being an artist, my channels for empathy are open, for the most part, and therefore the time that we’ll been through, as people, that pain and suffering I felt very deeply, and I went through a lot myself personally as well. It was difficult to witness all of that, and as an entertainer, I would personally like to contribute towards offering that will make people laugh and make them smile, I feel like that times have been tough, so let’s make people laugh”
“My next offering, Cirkus is the next best thing, it will be out on Christmas. When you go and watch Rohit Shetty’s comedy, you know what you’re going for, people come to laugh and feel light, and let’s have some fun. And that is the kind of cinema that I have consciously chosen that sort of justifies their time and money by coming there”
“People make plans and spend a lot of hard-earned money to come and watch a movie in theaters, and I take that effort seriously, it is my responsibility to give me them something worth for their time and money” added Ranveer.
This year FICCI Frames has returned in its physical form in Mumbai following the COVID pandemic. As in previous years, the world's media and entertainment industry will be in full attendance at this event, with nearly 2000 delegates encompassing the entire sector.
Cirkus is helmed by Rohit Shetty, also starring Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Varun Sharma. It also features Deepika Padukone and Ajay Devgn in special appearances.
Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is directed by Karan Johar the film also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, and Alia Bhatt.
