In 'reel' life also, success tides over sentiments

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 31 (SocialNews.XYZ) Success tides over sentiments and is the same in real life or reel life, as one presently analyses the latest news in the Malayalam tinsel world, now caught in a discussion after hugely popular director Sibi Malayil expressed his displeasure in the way on how superstar Mohanlal has given him the go-by, despite he giving the latter numerous super duper hits, early in his career.

None will ever forget the immortal hits the team of Malayil - writer Lohithadas and Mohanlal has gifted to the Malayalam film industry which ranges from 'Kireedam', 'Dasharatham', 'His Highness Abdullah' to name a few, which took place in the late eighties and nineties.

65-year-old Malayil known for his soft and pleasing manners and never has any sort of demeanour, of someone who has tasted so much success, is pained the way he has been treated by Mohanlal.

But going through his own admission, Malayil said for a long while he has been carrying the ambition of doing a second part to 'Dasharatham', (though, Lohithadas is no more), but for some reason the superstar continuous to give him the slip and he has now lost hope and has decided not to go after him.

He admitted that he will take it up only if he (Mohanlal) decides to do it, but he very well knows it won't happen and it does not matter to him also now.

A hugely popular actor on condition of anonymity said one thing that he has learned from the industry is like in real life, in reel life also success tides over sentiments.

"Just look into other successful director's pairs - Joshiy-Mammootty, Rajasenan-Jayaram and perhaps even Priyadarshan and Mohanlal. When the going is easy, things are all easy, but when films don't turn out to be a success, relationships do get affected is what I will say," said the actor.

Refusing to take sides on the rift between Malayil and Mohanlal, he pointed out that all in the industry knows the deep rooted friendship between Priyadarshan and Mohanlal, but none should forget the first films of Mohanlal's own production house in the late eighties were directed by Malayil.

"If one were to recall directors like Padmarajan and Lohithadas during their fag end of the careers, before they passed away, even after giving great hits to actors, did not get that much attention what these directors expected. In short, success tides over sentiments, is all what I would say," added the actor who did not wished to be identified.

He also pointed out perhaps in the yesteryears we have all heard, Prem Nazir, the evergreen hero of Malayalam films used to give a new date to his producer, if his new film of his had flopped at the box office.

"But those are all of the bygone era and today things have all changed and hence one should not expect that today should be like yesterday," added the actor.
