BJP denies Raj CM's unaccounted wealth taken to BJP offices in paramilitary trucks charge

Jaipur, Aug 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) Leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly, Rajendra Rathore, on Tuesday condemned a statement made by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in which he had accused the BJP of transporting large amount of unaccounted wealth to the offices of the saffron party in paramilitary trucks.

"At a time when the citizens of India were busy saluting our soldiers and remembering their brave acts, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan was busy issuing such cheap statements," Rathore said.

"By making such statements, the Chief Minister also demotivated the paramilitary forces and the police who are ensuring internal security of the nation," he added.

Rathore said if Gehlot has any concrete evidence to back his allegation of transporting money to BJP offices in paramilitary trucks in the name of demonetisation, why is he not making them public?

Rathore added that contrary to the dignity of the constitutional post he holds, Gehlot is insulting the soldiers of the paramilitary forces by making unrestrained statements.

The Chief Minister should take back his statement and apologise immediately, the BJP leader said.

On Monday, Gehlot had taken a dig at the BJP for 'changing' governments in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.

Speaking at a function at Shaheed Smarak on Monday, Gehlot had said, "Do you know what they (BJP) do? They apprehend paramilitary forces or policemen where they have their government. The staff load money in trucks which are then driven to the backyard of BJP offices.

"They then take off the boxes and put them inside. As the vehicles belong to the police, who can stop them? This is a big conspiracy. But Congress workers need not panic, the truth is with you."

He added that governments have not changed in states like Goa, Arunachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and now Maharashtra with "potatoes and onions".

He also questioned demonetisation and said, "Modiji brought demonetisation. It is a matter of common sense... why Rs 1,000 notes were discontinued? Because those notes occupied a large space. That is why Rs 1,000 notes were replaced with Rs 2,000 notes."
