Patna July 12 (SocialNews.XYZ) Bihar's Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday demanded Bharat Ratna be conferred on 'Jan Nayak' Karpoori Thakur.
He made the demand during the inauguration of Bihar Bhavan Memorial Column in the Bihar Assembly where Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also present.
Tejashwi Yadav, during his brief speech where he fumbled a bit, cited the contribution of Karpoori Thakur, an influential leader and former Bihar Chief Minister, in the democratic system and social equality in the country.
He also mentioned the role of Vaishali in birth of democracy, and sought a 'School of Democracy' be built in Bihar where research on several aspects of politics will be done. Lawmakers and students of politics will be given training there to build a more powerful democracy in the country, he said.
