India-China border issues would be resolved on mutual terms: Jaishankar

Thiruvananthapuram, July 10 (SocialNews.XYZ) External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Sunday said the Central government would like to resolve India-China border issues on fair, equitable and mutually agreed upon terms.

"We can't resolve it by one country saying that this is the solution, and for us to accept it," he said while speaking at a programme organised by the Kerala unit of the BJP, 'Interaction with Yuva Voters', at the Tennis Club here.

The Union Minister said that many students are going abroad for higher education and to make these students study in India, the government will bring in a new policy.

He said that brainstorming with educational institutions both inside and outside the country will be done before such a policy is mooted.

The minister said this while referring to the evacuation of students from Ukraine when the war broke out in that country.

He said that after the Narendra Modi-led government assumed office, several positive changes have taken place in the country.

The External Affairs minister said that world was keenly watching India's attitude on the Ukraine crisis.

Jaishankar said that the fight India has put up against Covid was appreciated globally. He said if ten or fifteen years ago, if something like Covid had happened, the country would have waited for what world was doing and "waited for our turn for medicines and vaccination".

"Today, we are one of the biggest countries that have highest rate of vaccinations," the Minister said.

He said that India's start-up environment has developed by leaps and bounds under the patronage of the Central government.

The Union Minister said that several progressive developments were taking place in the health sector under the Narendra Modi government.

He also said that the government was taking strong stand in the border issues the country was facing and on India-China border issue.

The Minister also said that several foreign countries are investing in India now and this is due to the secure environment the government was providing.

More than 150 students from in and around Thiruvananthapuram participated in the interaction.

BJP's Thiruvananthapuram district president V.V. Rajesh was also present.
