Panaji, July 11 (SocialNews.XYZ) Subsequent to the removal of Michael Lobo as Leader of Opposition (LoP), Congress Legislative Party (CLP) in Goa on Sunday late night took a resolution to change CLP leader and appoint a new leader.
Goa Congress chief Amit Patkar after the CLP meeting, which was attended by five MLAs, said that they have taken resolution to change the CLP leader. "New CLP leader will be appointed by tomorrow (Monday). I will submit it to the speaker before the assembly session starts," he said.
He said that five MLAs have signed on the resolution. "We have confirmed with sixth MLA over phone," he said.
Congress has removed Lobo as LoP alleging he is one who hatched conspiracy, along with former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, by hobnobbing with BJP to split Congress MLAs.
Patkar said that action against Lobo and Kamat will be taken as per law. "Our party President Sonia Gandhi has asked our leader Mukul Wasnik to arrive in Goa tomorrow (Monday) morning, then we will decide (about actions)," he said.
He said that all the developments have been conveyed to the high command.
Patkar said that five MLAs present for the meeting and another one is intact with the party.
