June 30th marks the success of the Launch of the First Padel Court in India

On June 30th, 2022, the Padel Tennis Federation, group of Padel enthusiasts from Spain and India, launched their first new padel court in the Celebrations Sports Club, Mumbai, India. Padel which is a hybrid between tennis and squash, has experienced an unprecedented growth in recent years and is expected to maintain high growth.The Padel Tennis Federation (PTF) has introduced Paddle sport in India with a series of tournaments and launches of new courts in Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Dehradun, Nagpur, Bhuvaneshwar and Delhi.

Padel has higher social engagement than comparable sports and does not require a high expenditure and thus Padel is attracting more enthusiast each day. It is increasing in popularity among social and streaming platforms, it can become a worldwide practised sport surpassing other flagship racket sports.

 

Since Spain is the cradle of Padel, PTF decided to honour the launch with the presence of Spaniards in the team and with Femando Belasteguin Padel player as Ambassador, who is in the Top 10 padel players worldwide, and for 16 years was declared number 1 of the world.

PTF has been well accepted and is planning to end the year with 23 padel courts in the country.
