Gurugram, June 28 (SocialNews.XYZ) BJP MLA Sanjay Singh from Sohna assembly consistently allegedly received a threat and extortion message in the name of gangster Neeraj Bawana a few days ago, the police said on Tuesday.
Neeraj Bawana, a noted gangster, is currently lodged in Tihar Jail.
According to the police, the MLA got a threatening message from an unknown number. The person on the message identified himself as a member of the Neeraj Bawana gang.
"The unknown person on June 25 threatened the MLA and demanded Rs 5 lakh and warned him of dire consequences if he failed to give the amount," Subhash Boken, spokesperson of the Gurugram police said.
"A case has been registered in this regard. As per the provided details, we are probing the matter. The police have started an investigation by registering a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Sohna City police station," Boken said.
